Essence Brown

Raised in Miami, FL, Essence maintains light, rhythm, and flow at her core. She is a proud Blackorican actress, storyteller, and teaching artist. She fell in love for the first time when she had breadcrumbs on mac n’ cheese and the second time when she began doing theatre in her community at 10 years old. She has been fervently dedicated to both ever since. Essence holds a B.A. in Acting from Pace University’s International Performance Ensemble where her true storytelling powers began to unravel through devising and ensemble building. She has performed Off-Broadway, regionally, and internationally, as well as co-produced and developed original work. Creative expression has been central to Essence’s journey both professionally and personally. Providing space for young voices to explore, connect with themselves, and create boundlessly has been a full circle opportunity that constantly inspires her.
