Girl Be Heard and the team behind the documentary film I Am A Girl have partnered to raise awareness about human rights issues affecting girls around the world.

 

In 2015, Girl Be Heard and the team behind the document film “I Am A Girl” partnered to raise awareness around human rights issue affecting girls around the world. Through a series of lesson plans designed for high school students, GBH Education Guides for “I Am A Girl” are a practical and ready-to-use source for teachers to address pressing global and personal issues affecting girls. This collection of lesson plans was designed with the Common Core Curriculum in mind so that teachers can use them to complement classroom work and help prepare students for academic success. The “I Am A Girl” film features X girls around the world, including an alumna of Girl Be Heard.

With over 60 pages of lesson plans designed for high school students from grades 9-12, Girl Be Heard Education Guides for I Am A Girl are a practical and ready-to-use source for teachers to address global and personal issues affecting girls around the world. Aligned with Common Core standards, teachers can easily use these curricula to complement textbook and classroom work, help prepare students to succeed on standardized tests, excel in college, and contribute thoughtfully as advocates for their communities, locally and globally.
