Karen Spolar

Karen Spolar, Corporate and Foundation Development Lead, is a development professional with 18 years of experience driving fundraising strategy and donor diversification at such organizations as Local Initiatives Support Corporation,Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, The Billie Holiday Theatre and The Noel Pointer Foundation, among others. Her passion and focus is building sustainable institutional funding for organizations at the intersection of community development, racial equity, and the arts. Outside of the nonprofit world, Karen has five years of experience in institutional securities trading where she helped manage investor relations for mid-sized portfolio managers. Karen graduated summa cum laude from Penn State University with degrees in English and Political Science; and holds a MPA in Public Policy from the University of Pennsylvania.
