Lauren Rieder
Managing Director, Operational Risk, Morgan Stanley
Lauren has spent over 20 years of her career as a risk manager in the Financial Industry. Her current role in Morgan Stanley focuses on ensuring that the Firm does not suffer material losses due to human errors, system failures, or poorly designed processes. She focuses on building comprehensive frameworks which enable risk mitigation and actively challenges business practices which might put the firm at risk. In addition, Lauren is Head of Risk for the Investment Management Business. As a member of the Firm’s Risk Management Committee, Lauren is active in setting the strategy for diversity and inclusion and provides active leadership in the Women of Risk initiatives.
Lauren is a big believer that a women’s key to achieving success in the workforce starts with cultivating her voice and being heard. It was therefore so exciting to join Girl Be Heard, which works on instilling these capabilities in young women today. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from New York University, Stern School of Business and is a Certified Public Accountant. She lives in Greenwich, CT with her husband and 9 year-old daughter, Zoe, who is always being heard.
