Meagan Woods is an interdisciplinary artist who works in dance, theatre, and costume designer. She holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Simon Fraser University and a BFA in Dance from Rutgers University, where she earned the Margery Turner Award for choreography. Meagan has taught at both her alma maters, as well as The New School and Montclair State University. Her research investigates movement stories across social, environmental, and artistic processes. Recently, she shared a TEDx talk that uses sewing as a metaphor to examine how “backwards” action might be a daring and progressive approach to cultivate meaningful, sustainable change. Meagan is passionate about amplifying young voices and creating brave spaces for communities to share, discover, invent, and imagine together. Meagan’s teaching style is joyful, curious, and supportive- she is thrilled to be a part of the dynamic team at Girl Be Heard! More at: meaganwoods.com
