Monica Torres


Monica is a painter and sculptor. Her work illustrates aspects of her Caribbean culture. She uses sculpture to preserve the memory of places around the world. From caves in the Dominican Republic to coasts in Hawaii, Torres creates collectible art jewelry that relates to her research work on women and land rights. Monica has interned with The United States Department of Agriculture, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and worked as a fieldworker with The Middlesex County Office of Arts and History.
