Sawyer Evans

New York University Tisch Student, Sawyer Evans is very passionate about theatre and creating with others. Her first love is Musical theatre as she is a first year at The New Studio On Broadway at Tisch School of the Arts. A bigger passion of hers however is social justice and enacting change. Invoking reform for her community, and of all minorities around her, is a top priority of hers. She is extremely grateful and excited to be a part of such a forward thinking and actively working Theatre company like Girl be Heard. It is not everyday one has the opportunity to collaborate with people who are passionate about social change and theatre, and this means everything to Sawyer. She one day plans to create theatre that inspires others but also makes active change for humanity, as that is the greatest gift and blessing she could receive from her art. Sawyer just finished her first Regional theatre credit with The Encore Theatre Company (Dexter MI) this summer in their performance of Mamma Mia. This performance was nominated by the Michigan Regional Broadway World Awards for Best Ensemble, and Sawyer is very grateful and honored to have been a part of it. She is right now enjoying learning and performing at Tisch. She wants to thank her family, friends, and teachers for always supporting her.
